____________________________________________________________________ [13:. - [ The sad sorry state of syn ] [c0redump] :. ] [c0redump@btinternet.com] :. ] ____________________________________________________________________ First of all, I would like to say that any feedback we get back is both helpful and enjoyable to read. In this case; syn c's article / e-mail / complaint / essay - I would just like to give the other side of the story. Everyone knows there are two sides to a story and I would like to state mine. #hacktech has been around since 1995. Primary as a channel for a group of about six friends that were administrators to discuss their security. Keep up with the latest patches / holes and just talk about general stuff. Five years on, #hacktech is living on. Bigger than ever, packed differently at different times. Our "reason" for existing now is a much bigger group of friends and administrators, programmers, etc. (an organisation really) to discuss computer security issues amongst other things. As syn c stated about us talking about sex, masturbation, etc. What is wrong with that? People find it easier talking to a complete stranger about personal problems as they are not involved. Doctors don't just talk about medical issues - they talk about other totally different things. Same with #hacktech - you won't find us always talking about computer related issues (we are human); but most of the time you will because that's the main 'topic.' [Thus the channel being named "#hacktech" meaning 'Hack Technologies.'] Like syn c - everyone has their own opinions about different things. He has his own views (and I respect that); on what a hacker is, #hacktech, etc. That is his opinion; that doesn't mean everyone else agrees. Who has the right to define who is a hacker or who is not? (Sounding like The Matrix now, eh?) No one does. So read what you do but DO NOT believe all what you do read. Sum it up and come to your own conclusions. I would also like to see the evidence of syn c's survey; i.e: "5% are feds within #hacktech." On how many people was this based on? Is this really accurate? Did you actually see the federal agent's warrant card? Didn't think so. ;) My argument is not an attempt at getting 'one over on syn c' nor an ego trip. It's just my chance to give my side of the story and stand up for my channel and what I / we believe in. Again; readers, come to your OWN conclusions when you have read and summed up all the pieces of evidence. Thanks for reading. - c0redump [manager] #hacktech @ undernet b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@! b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@! b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@! b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@! b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@!b0g!#@! ________________________________________ ( OH BRONC!
